On Saturday, two persons died and another was left injured as an under-construction wall of Shri Siddhi Avenue collapsed in Tardeo locality. Earlier in September, four people were injured when a railway compound wall collapsed at Kurla Station, one of the busiest stations of Mumbai. The railways compound wall collapsed near Platform Number 1, near Rammahal Hotel, Hariyana Lane, Kurla West. The four injured and admitted to Kurla Bhabha Hospital were Siraj, Lakhan Khatal, Laxman Patil and Amir Kasin.
In February, two persons were killed after a godown wall caved in below the Dockyard Road railway station in Mumbai.
The godown wall, which was emptied for construction of a foot-overbridge, collapsed at around 7 PM. Ganesh Jambre (45) and a housemaid Nasrin Ibrahim were trapped inside the debris. They were pulled out by the locals. On being taken to the hospital, Jambre and Ibrahim were declared brought dead.
