Mumbai, June 13: A woman constable was molested in a Vile Parle pub in Mumbai when she tried to solve fight between two guests and the staff on Sunday. The incident took place at a pub near Juhu gymkhana at around 3am which is frequented by celebrities. The quarrel began over a bill of Rs 14,000 which they said was more than the actual money they spent there. Also Read - Beware! The accused has been identified as 28-year-old, Shrinivas Sundarvardhan from Tamil Nadu and 25-year-old Shashtri Krishna from Kochi in Kerala. An officer at Juhu police station said that the duo were drunk and created a ruckus at the pub saying that they won’t pay the bill. After they became uncontrollable, the staff informed the police control room which sent a team to the spot. The officials comprising of woman constable and two policemen requested them to come to the police station on which one of them refused. This led to another argument between the police and the two men, during which they allegedly pushed the personnel and touched her inappropriately. The youths were taken to Juhu police station and FIR has been registered against them. A Section of 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty), 354 (whoever assaults or uses criminal force to any woman, intending to outrage or knowing it to be likely that he will thereby outrage her modesty) and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code. They were produced before a magistrate’s court on Sunday and have been remanded in police custody for a day.
