Muslim Man Breaks ‘Roza’ to Donate Blood to Two-Day-Old Girl in Darbhanga

A Muslim man here broke his Roza (fast) to donate blood to a two-day-old baby girl. Mohammad Ashfaq said that what motivated him was that the baby's father is an SSB jawan.

Darbhanga, May 28: A Muslim man here broke his Roza (fast) to donate blood to a two-day-old baby girl. Mohammad Ashfaq said that what motivated him was that the baby’s father is an SSB jawan. “I thought saving a life is more important, knowing that she is the daughter of security personnel motivated me more.”

This is not the first time that someone has broken his Roza to help another person in need. Earlier this month, national president of National Association For Parents and Students Rights Aarif Khan had broken his Roza to donate blood to 20-year-old Ajay who suffered from a liver infection and had been in the ICU of Max Hospital in Dehradun. The youth urgently needed A+ blood as his platelet count was dropping sharply.

Khan learnt about it through a social media post. He contacted Ajay’s father and said that he was observing roza but was willing to donate blood if the doctors would let him. The doctors said he couldn’t donate blood on an empty stomach. That meant breaking his fast. Khan didn’t think twice and went to the hospital to donate blood. Later, four more volunteers turned up to donate blood for Ajay. Khan said, “If my breaking my fast means saving a life, I would first follow the religion of humanity.”
