New Delhi: Vikram Saini, a BJP legislator from Muzaffarnagar, has courted a controversy by saying,”those who say they feel unsafe and threatened in India should be bombed.” Saini is an accused in the 2013 Muzaffarnagar riots case and was detained under the National Security Act.
“My personal view is that those who say they feel unsafe and threatened in India should be bombed, give me a ministry and I will bomb all such people, not even one will be spared,” said Saini, while speaking at an event.
Reacting over the BJP MLA’s comment, Raj Babbar, UP Congress Chief stated,”CM (Yogi Adityanath) says ‘thok do’, MLA who aspires to be minister says will bomb people. He should be arrested and punished. He is speaking like a terrorist, must be probed for terror links.”
Notably, his (BJP MLA Saini) comment comes day after acclaimed Bollywood actor Naseeruddin Shah faced criticism for his remarks on the spate of mob lynching cases in India following the killing of a policeman in Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr district last year.
In a video interview with Karwan-e-Mohabbat India, the veteran actor said the death of a cow was being given importance over the killing of a policeman in India. He said the “poison has already spread” and it will be now difficult to contain it.
“It will be very difficult to capture this djinn back into the bottle again. There is complete impunity for those who take law into their own hands…I feel anxious for my children because tomorrow if a mob surrounds them and asks, ‘Are you a Hindu or a Muslim?’ they will have no answer. It worries me that I don’t see the situation improving anytime soon,” Shah stated.
Saini – Not New to Controversy
Saini had sparked controversy when he threatened to break the limbs of those who kill and disrespect cows. “I had promised that I will break the hands and legs of those who hesitate in saying ‘Vande Matram’, those who feel pain in saying ‘Bharat mata ki jai’ and also those who do not consider cow as their mother and kill them.”
He had urged Hindus to produce more children until a law for population control comes into existence. “Until a law on population control comes into existence, I have told my wife to keep producing children, even though she told me that two were enough,” Saini had said.
He had also said that “Hindustan is for Hindus” while asking Muslims to go to Pakistan. “During partition, due to them (Muslims), the Hindus are facing problem in the country. If they (Muslims) had not stopped in India, property of crores would be of the Hindus,” Saini had said.
