New Delhi, August 11: Calling him a coward Chief Minister, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav on Saturday yet again attacked Nitish Kumar over the Muzaffarpur shelter home rape cases. Addressing a press conference Yadav said,”Nitish Ji must resign on moral grounds as he’s unable to run the state. It’ll be proved he’s the most coward CM who isn’t fighting for justice for our daughters.” He also accused him of shielding those who committed the crime. The RJD leader also threatened to stage a mass protest in Madhubani if Nitish Kumar won’t reveal the whereabouts of the girl who was shifted from the shelter home within a week. “Nitish ji knows everything. I give him a week’s time to reveal the whereabouts of the girl who was shifted from the shelter home and who has been missing since then, after which we will stage a mass protest in Madhubani,” Yadav added. However, this is not the first time Yadav has attacked the Bihar CM over the issue. Earlier on August 5, during an RJD-led protest at Jantar Mantar, the Leader of Opposition in the Bihar Assembly had claimed that the Nitish Kumar-led government had ignored various reports mentioning suspicious activities on the condition of the inmates at the shelter home. “This is the chacha (uncle) who talks of good governance,… I am ashamed too. We have come to Delhi because my chacha’s soul has not woken up yet to these crimes. He says there is a rule of law in Biharis. It is not ‘jungle raj‘, but ‘rakshas raj,” Yadav had said, while addressing the protest, in which leaders of a number of opposition parties including Rahul Gandhi had joined in to show solidarity with the victim girls.
Earlier in the day, a team of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and Central Forensic Science Laboratory reached the Muzaffarpur shelter home to investigate the alleged sexual abuse case. The team will also be visiting the residence of prime accused Brajesh Thakur, as well as the newspaper office run by him.
