New Delhi, Aug 8: Muzaffurpur shelter home horror main accused Brajesh Thakur finally broke his silence and said that he has been falsely implicated and this whole case is a propaganda by some newspaper who want his newspaper office to be shut down. He also alleged that he was being framed since he was almost finalised to contest for elections from Muzaffarpur for Congress. He added that this bears a testimony since none of the 34 girls have taken his name or named him as the accused. Thakur further said that he never had any sort of relationship with the other accused Madhu who has been absconding. He added that his contemporaries’ newspaper business was getting affected hence they were spreading false propaganda against him.
Following his statement, a woman threw ink on accused Brajesh Thakur outside court in Muzaffarpur today.
The shelter home where more than 40 girls were being sexually abused, was owned by a non-governmental organisation (NGO) which in turn is owned by Brajesh Thakur. An FIR was lodged on May 31 which named Thakur’s NGO following which 10 people, including Thakur, were held. One person, former chairman of the district Child Welfare Committee, Dilip Verma, is absconding.
