Narendra Modi failed to learn politics from A B Vajpayee; Manmohan Singh was better than him: Former RAW Chief

Hyderabad, Dec 3: The former head of Research and Analysis Wing (R&AW) Amarjit Singh Dulat said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should have learnt the art of politics from his senior and BJP leader, Atal Bihari Vajpayee. He also said that the former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was a better leader than Modi.

According to a Times of India Report, former Prime Ministers like Jawaharlal Nehru and Atal Bihari Vajpayee had understood the Jammu and Kashmir well. Dulat also said that Modi not engaging in conversation with Paksitan is not the right way to deal the issue. The Report quoted Dulat from his book, “Vajpayee was a leader and a politician and Modi should learn politics and it is the differentiating issue between the two. Modi in my humble opinion has to learn politics and it is pity he did not learn it from Vajpayee who is the greatest Indian politician.”(Also Read: Narendra Modi remains popular, NDA govt working to fulfil its promise of ‘Achche Din’)

Praising Manmohan Singh Dulat said that Singh understood the scenario at the border better. He said that he made efforts to understand the problem. Dulat who has also served as the advisor on Kashmir in the Prime Minister’s Office. He said that Modi should participate in the upcoming SAARC meeting in Islamabad.

He was quoted saying as “Kashmiris harbour a sense of alienation, frustration and anger. And one should not misread the waving of Pak and ISIS flags during protests. Kashmiris are desperately seeking peace.”
