New Delhi: Rattled by the relentless attack by the Congress over the Rafale deal issue, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said that the actions of the grand old party are proving that it (Congress) consider itself above country, democracy, judiciary and public. “Their actions, their conspiracies are proving it again and again that they (Congress) consider themselves above country, democracy, judiciary and public. 2 days ago, we saw another example of it (Rafale). Stay alert and safe from such people & parties,” PM Modi said, while addressing a rally in Prayagraj (Allahabad)
Mounting attack on the Opposition, PM Modi further claimed that the Congress party destroyed every agency that didn’t work according to them. “The party that has ruled the nation for the longest duration of time has always considered itself above law, judiciary, every agency and even above the nation. This party destroyed every agency that didn’t work according to them,” PM Modi asserted.
The Prime Minister also paid a visit to the ‘Akshayavat’ in Prayagraj before heading to Andawa to inaugurate various development projects to clean the Ganges and ghats ahead of the Kumbh Mela scheduled to begin from January 2019. Modi said that this time devotees will be able to offer prayers at Akhsay Vat, which has been under closure for years, during Ardha Kumbh.
“I am here to give you a good news. This time, devotees will be able to visit Akshay Vat in Ardha Kumbh. It was confined in Akshay Vat Fort for generations, but this time every devotee visiting the place will be fortunate to visit Akshay Vat,” PM Modi announced.
Earlier in the day, while addressing a public gathering in Sonia Gandhi’s home turf Rae Bareli, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had attacked the Congress party saying the opposition party’s history in defence deals is that of uncle Quattrocchi.
“Congress’ history in defence deals is that of uncle Quattrocchi. Helicopter scam accused Christian Michel was brought to the country a few days ago. Everyone saw how Congress sent their lawyer to save him,” Modi said.
Notably, this was the first rally of PM Modi after Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) suffered humiliating defeat in the recently held Assembly elections.
