New York, September 24: Prime Minister Narendra Modi who arrived in New York on Thursday, will meet his Bangladeshi counterpart Shiekh Hasina, on Thursday. Both are in New York to attend the 70th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), to be held at the UN headquarters in the city. “The meeting will be held on Thursday morning (New York time) at Hotel Waldorf Astoria, where the two leaders are staying,” an official source was quoted as saying by the Bangladesh media. Media reports also suggested that Modi will not be holding bilateral talks with Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, who is also staying at the same Waldorf Astoria hotel, which is also housing Modi and Hasina. The report was confirmed by Minister of External Affairs Vikas Swarup. Modi is also scheduled to address a round table conference on ‘Media, Technology and Communications – Growth Story for India’ on Thursday. “Several heads of media organisations will be present and is organized by News Corp which was founded by Rupert Murdoch. “The idea is how we leverage India’s growth story through media and modern communications,” Swarup revealed.
