New Delhi, January 16 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi late on Saturday evening at the Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi spoke about how the entire concept of start up India can flourish in the upcoming days. Modi also said that India is the place for such an initiative to unearth many more avenues also emphasizing on the youth and its extensive importance to such a development.Also Read - PM Modi Launches 7 New State-Run Defence Companies, Says They Will Become a Global Brand

” No matter what Narendra Modi can or cannot do, the youth of the country can, is what I am sure of I had spoken about #StartupIndia from the Red Fort and today we are seeing what this is all about. When I say StartupIndia , I also mean to say stand up India.India is blessed to be a nation of youngsters,” Modi said. “Sometimes I wish God had given me capabilities like you people startup entrepreneurs have, If we have a million problems, we have a billion minds too” Modi added.
“In the beginning when someone would have shared their plan to start a start up, people around them would have discouraged them,” Modi affirmed. He also said that this is also the first time that the Vigyan Bhawan is energised.
Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and Union Commerce Nirmala Sitharaman gave their opening remarks to the program, alongside a host of dignitaries attending the program. Startup founders, venture capitalists, angel investors and CEOs joined Modi on January 16 to launch the ‘Startup India Movement’, the commerce and industry ministry said on Tuesday. Uber founder Travis Kalanick, Softbank CEO and founder Masayoshi Son and WeWork founder Adam Nuemann also featured in the interactive talks.
Finance Minister Arun Jaitley also remarked during his speech “There was a time when surnames mattered,now they dont’. StartupIndia marks an important change in India’s mindset, Start ups on the strength of ideas & technology have given new solutions to the World,”. The day-long workshop featured panel discussions on “Unleashing Entrepreneurship and Innovation: What do Indian Startups need to Grow and Prosper”, “Celebrating Women: Stories of Innovative Women Entrepreneurs”, “How digitization will change India’s future”, “Making Indian Healthcare Leapfrog” and “Financial inclusion is within reach”.
The Live telecast of the event was beamed in IITs, IIMs, NITs, IIITs, central universities and youth groups in as many as 350 districts across the country.
