Patna, Jan 6: The anti-Janata Dal (United) voices within the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) have raised objections regarding the manner in which Lalu Prasad Yadav was treated at the 350th Prakash Parv. Key RJD leader Raghuvansh Prasad Singh lashed out at Nitish Kumar, accusing him of disrespecting Lalu Prasad Yadav, by sharing the dias with Narendra Modi alone. Raghuvansh questioned why Lalu was made to sit on the floor, while Nitish and Modi were seated on the dias. In rage, he further added that the government in Bihar is being led by the Mahagathbandhan, not by Nitish alone.
Raghuvansh Prasad claimed that the actions of Nitish Kumar, of allegedly excluding Lalu, has upset the voters of Mahagathbandhan across Bihar. “This has disappointed everyone. If this is a mahagathbandhan government, then every constituent of the alliance should share the stage,” he said.
On being asked whether the protocol may have allowed only the Bihar Chief Minister to share the dias, Raghuvansh replied, “This was not an official function. So there is no question of protocol… This is about arrogance.”
Raghuvansh’s fresh salvo against Nitish Kumar:
- “Why Lalu Prasad Yadav was seated on the floor, while Nitish Kumar ji shared the dias with PM?”
- “Isn’t this the the Mahagathbandhan government? All leaders of the alliance should had shared the dias.”
- “Maybe, he (Lalu) has not raised any objection. But people of Bihar have been offended.”
- “It appears as if there is no coalition, that it is only a Janata Dal United government here.”
However, Lalu Prasad Yadav has not shown any signs of being offended. Nitish, Lalu, along with his sons Tejashwi and Tej Pratap had lunch along with PM Modi following the Prakash Parv event. During the lunch ceremony, Modi reportedly told Tej Pratap, “You have become Kishan Kanhaiya.” Modi was referring to his recent image where the 28-year-old was playing flute.
