The aim of the Government is to double the income of farmers: Modi

New Delhi, Feb 1: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday hailed the Union Budget 2017 presented by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and said that the Finance Minister has presented an ‘Uttam’ Budget that is devoted to strengthening the hands of the poor. The Prime Minister said that the merger of the Railway Budget with the general budget will give an impetus to the transport sector’s growth. “The aim of the Government is to double the income of farmers. An important link between all the steps taken in the last 2 and a half years and the development in future that will follow”, he said.

The Prime Minister, in his address said that the government is commitment to eliminate the menace of corruption and black money and all this is being reflected in the Budget. The Prime Minister said that the country is going through a lot of transformation and this budget will facilitate the changes that our country is going through. Modi said this budget is again devoted to the well-being of the villages, farmers, and the empowerment of women and will give new strength to the economy.
