New Delhi, July 29: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is attending the last rituals of late former President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam in his home-town Rameshwaram. Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu confirmed that the Prime Minister is reaching Rameshwaram to attend the funeral. “We are leaving for Rameswaram where former President Dr. Kalam’s last rites will be performed, PM is also coming,” said Naidu. Meawhile, the Indian Air Force Aircraft carrying late Former President APJ Abdul Kalam’s mortal remains left for Rameshwaram from Palam Airport. The IAF’s Aircraft C-130 J Super Hercules carrying the mortal remains of late President departed for Madurai from Palam Airport for its last journey to Rameshwaram. Dr. Kalam passed away in Shillong in evening on July 27. He collapsed after suffering a massive cardiac arrest while delivering a lecture at the Indian Institute of Management in Shillong. The government has declared a seven-day national mourning as a mark of respect for Dr. Kalam.
