Narendra Modi wishes people on Bihar Diwas

New Delhi, Mar 22: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday wished the people of Bihar on the occasion of Bihar Diwas, the state’s foundation day. He took to Twitter greet the people of the state.

Bihar Diwas is observed on March 22 every year. It marks the formation of Bihar when Britishers marked its boundaries from the Bengal Presidency on March 22, 1912. The is observed as a pubic holiday in Bihar. The state celebrates the day with great pomp and fervor. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar introduced celebrations to mark the day in 2010.

The festival has a particular theme each year and Vikasit Bihar Ke Saat Sutra (seven-point vision of Nitish Kumar for development of Bihar) is the theme this year. (Also Read: CM Nitish Kumar recognises role of judiciary in establishing rule of law)

The celebrations in Bihar is a 3-day affair which kicks off on Tuesday following an inaugural address by Nitish Kumar. Cultural programs, film documentaries and other programs will be key attractions of the day. Governor Ram Nath Kovind also on Tuesday extended greetings to the people of Bihar. He also urged the people to co-operate and help them in developing the state and to maintain the heritage of Bihar.
