New Delhi, December 18: Vice president of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Prty and the Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi on Saturday reacted to the National Herald trial’s verdict, saying that Congress and corruption go hand in hand. He made the statements against the backdrop of Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi being granted bail in the National Herald trial that took place on Saturday. Naqvi said that the BJP was trying to rid the country of corruption and Congress, which meant the same thing.
“When we talk about Congress-free India, we mean corruption-free”, Naqvi said at a press conference here, adding, “Congress and corruption goes hand in hand.” Naqvi made these remarks even as Congress tried to play the victim yet again, after Sonia and Rahul were granted bail, by the Patiala court. In a press conference hosted by the Congress after the trail, Sonia Gandhi said that the BJp was conpiring against them and that they will continue to fight against them. “For the principles of Congress, for our strategies and for the protection of the rights of the poor, our struggle will go on”, Sonia said. I want to tell this to every citizen of India, that neither I, nor Congres will bow down”, Rahul said. “I also want to say that we will continue fighting for the poor and the weaker sections. We will continue our work as the Opposition and we will not budge, even an inch”, he added.
