NCP MLA Ramesh Kadam booked with corruption charges arrested

Maharashtra, August 17: Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) MLA Ramesh Kadam from Mohal in Solapur who had been booked with corruption charges in Mohamandal scam has been arrested on Monday by Maharashtra CID. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis  had announced on Friday had announced that Kadam in connection to the scam in Lokshaahir Annabhau Sathe Vikas Mohamandal will be soon arrested. Kadam who is currently in police custody will be questioned to know what was done of the money. Reportedly he not only used the money but also distributed it amomg other leaders.

MLAs from both the benches and the opposition staged protest against the tainted MLA by shouting slogans on Friday. While treasury benches demanded Kadam’s arrest, opposition demanded his resignation along with others involved. The Mahamandal scam is a Rs 385 crore scam of which Rs 132 was given to factories which Kadam monitored. Rs 61.74 was given to a weaving mill in Paithan. Maitrey Sugar Association also received Rs 30 crore.
