The NDA on Friday announced manifesto for Bihar Assembly election. Union Minister-BJP chief JP Nadda, CM Nitish Kumar, Union Minister-HAM(S) Custodian Jitan Ram Manjhi, Union Minister-LJP(RV) Chief Chirag Paswan, RLM chief Upendra Kushwaha and others released NDA’s ‘Sankalp Patra’ in Patna.
In an apparent counter to the Mahagathbandhan, the NDA has promised 1 crore government jobs, and assured that 1 crore women will be made Lakhpati didis.
Ahead of the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections, the Grand Alliance had heated up the political atmosphere by releasing the “Tejaswi Prana Patra” in Patna. This manifesto makes 25 major promises, including government jobs for every family, land for the landless, and 200 units of free electricity. The manifesto also said ‘Jeevika Didis’ (women associated with a World Bank-aided rural project) will be granted permanent status as government employees. Making all contractual and outsourced workers permanent and reverting to the Old Pension Scheme are among the other salient points.
What NDA has promised?
Announcing the manifesto, deputy CM Samrat Choudhary said, “Financial and social empowerment of Extremely Backward Classes is very important. Different categories of Extremely Backward Classes will be given financial help of Rs 10 Lakhs. The most important thing is that under the chairmanship of a retired Supreme Court judge, we will form a high-level committee which will assess the social and financial conditions of different communities under Extremely Backward Classes and make suggestions to the govt for the upliftment of these communities.”
