New Delhi, Dec 1: A recent study indicated that Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Lal Bahadur Shashtri and Amitabh Bachchan are likely descendants of same lineage. The study established that revolutionary Bose, India’s second Prime Minister Shashtri and Indian actor Bachchan might share a family relation dating ages. Reportedly the study re-explores the ancient legend of five kulin Kayasthas who migrated from Kannauj in Uttar Pradesh to Bengal, some thousand years back. The five kulin Kayastha lineages in Bengal are Bose, Ghosh, Mitra, Datta and Guha. According to Times of India, the study combined a reappraisal of historical and genealogical works with a genetic analysis of a small group of individuals belonging to present-day Bengali kulin Kayastha families. The report claimed that if the Boses of Bengal and the Srivastavas of UP are originally from the same family, it would make Bachchan, Shastri and Netaji Bose distant relatives of each other.
