New Delhi, March 16: The mystery behind the true identity of Gumnami Baba deepened on Tuesday, after photographs retrieved from the treasury of Faizabad district of Uttar Pradesh were those of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose’s family. A family portrait, besides a photograph of Netaji’s parents, Jankinath Bose and Prabhawati Bose, were reportedly found in the inventory. The identities of Bose’s family were confirmed by Shakti Singh, the owner of Ram Bhawan.

A report in the Times of India says that the family portrait shows 22 members of Netaji’s family besides his parents. Singh, who is also a special invitee to the administrative committee formed by Faizabad district administration for retrieval and cross-verification of Gumnami Baba’s possessions, said that Bose’s neice Lalita Bose, had visited Ram Bhawan in 1986, and identified the people in the photos.
