Vinay Not Well, Refusing to Recognise Mother, Lawyer Tells Court; Court Seeks Report On Vinay’s Health From Tihar Jail

New Delhi: A special court has sought a report from the Tihar jail authorities on Vinay Sharma’s plea seeking direction to Tihar jail authorities after it was reported that Vinay attempted to hurt himself inside his cell. The application mentioned that Vinay sustained a grievous head injury, fracture in his right arm, mental illness and schizophrenia and was referred to the Institute of Human Behaviour and Allied Sciences Hospital. The case will again be heard on February 22.

Reports surfaced that Vinay Sharma has reportedly hit head on the wall of his cell early this week. He was trying to hurt his hand as well, but the in-charge stopped him. He was taken to a hospital and was released after first-aid.
Delhi’s Patiala trial court on Monday issued a fresh date for the execution of the four convicts facing the gallows in connection with the 2012 Delhi gangrape and murder case. The hanging of all four Nirbhaya convicts will now take place on March 3 at 6 AM in Delhi’s Tihar Jail.
