New Delhi: Nirbhaya convicts’ advocate AP Singh who was said that there’s no point in giving the death penalty to the convicts as they would anyway not live long in Delhi’s air pollution came up with two new arguments as he was challenging the rejection of Vinay’s mercy plea by the President.

Miscarriage of Justice: The advocate, according to Bar and Bench, said that the official file didn’t have the signatures of the home minister and the LG that they are supposed to do because of the election, according to the advocate. He said that the signature was obtained by OSD on WhatsApp.

After the SC pulled him up for wasting time, AP Singh said Vinay was tortured inside the jail.

They are not terrorists: The advocate said they are not habitual offenders, they are not terrorists.

Vinay is depressed: Citing WHO, Red Cross reports, the advocate highlighted the condition of the prisoners.

Vinay was never in solitary confinement, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta said. “Vinay was regularly checked. There are Jail Psychiatrist. This is a regular checkup. All prisoners are checked. As per his lastest medical report, he is medically fit,” the SG said.

The order is expected tomorrow.
