Patna, November 10: Nitish Kumar is likely to take oath as Bihar chief minister for the fifth time on Novmber 20, according to ANI report. The term of Bihar Assembly will end on 29 November. On Monday, a Janata Dal (United) leader said that the Grand Alliance leader will take oath as Bihar CM after the Chhath festival to be celebrated in the third week of November.

“A 36-member cabinet including Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will take oath after the Chhath festival,” said a Janata Dal-United leader. Chhath is the most popular festival in Bihar. According to leaders of the Grand Alliance, there will be 16 ministers from Lalu Prasad’s Rashtriya Janata Dal, 15 from the JD-U and five from the Congress. the Grand Alliance or Mahagathbandhan made clean sweep winning 178 seats in the Bihar Assembly Elections 2015. The NDA, on the other hand, secured 58 seats, with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) bagging 53 seats, Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) and Rashtriya Lok Samta Party (RLSP) winning two seats each, and Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM, Secular) securing one seat. The RJD, which emerged as the single largest party with 80 assembly seats, is expected to claim the important portfolios.
