Patna, July 26: Nitish Kumar on Wednesday evening quit as Bihar Chief Minister, ending a two-year-old Grand Alliance, a political experiment branded as Maha-Gathbandhan, with Lau Prasad Yadav and the Congress. On Wednesday evening, Nitish Kumar met with Bihar Chief Governor Keshari Nath Tripathi to deliver his resignation. After resigning from the top post-Nitish Kumar said, “It was impossible for me to work in this situation. • “There was no scandal before this, I tried to make it work for as long as I could,” said Nitish Kumar to reporters this evening after he tendered resignation to state Governor. “My conscience would not allow me to continue,” he said.
• “It’s not possible to work in this environment, I tried. Tried to found out a solution. When I supported Demonetisation a lot of allegations were leveled against me,” said Nitish Kumar.
• “Governor has accepted my resignation and asked me to continue working till the next development. I am not blaming anyone, those who want to blame me are free to do so,” said Nitish Kumar.
• “Gandhiji always said needs can be met on the earth, but greed can never be fulfilled,” said Bihar CM. Before resigning Nitish Kumar said that he had informed Lalu Prasad Yadav and Congress Bihar incharge CP Joshi.

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Nitish Kumar for breaking away from the grand alliance and standing united against corruption. PM Modi said it is imperative to oversee the political differences and unite to combat against unitedly against corruption.
