New Delhi: Two persons were allegedly shot at in the posh area of Sector-46 in Noida, located near Delhi on Thursday, stated news agency ANI. While one person succumbed to the bullet injuries, the other has been taken to a hospital. His condition continues to remain critical. Investigation on the matter is underway.
According to reports, the two passersby were shot at by a bike-borne miscreant. As soon as news of the incident spread, police were deployed in the area.
The injured was initially admitted to a district hospital. However, as his condition worsened, the doctors referred to another hospital in the national capital, SSP Ajay Pal Sharma was quoted as saying in a report.
In a similar incident on October 28, a 50-year-old restaurant owner was shot dead by unidentified assailants at the Jewar area of Gautam Buddh Nagar. The incident occurred when Jaipal, who runs a restaurant in Tappal, was returning home on his two-wheeler, the police said. Jaipal was shot thrice by the assailants. On hearing the bullet shots, the locals working in the fields nearby rushed to help him, added the police.
On October 4, a 24-year-old worker was shot dead in Noida. The man was allegedly killed as he had lodged several complaints with the police about practices like illicit liquor trade, drug trafficking and other illegal businesses prevalent in the place. The deceased identified as Ajay Chaudhary was a resident of Sector 8’s JJ Colony. He was taken outside his house by an accused named Sarfaraz to another accused before the crime took place.
