Noida Weather: Rain expected on this date, IMD issues storm alert – Check forecast for Ghaziabad, Lucknow, Kanpur and Agra
According to the Meteorological Department, due to the effect of easterly winds and western disturbance, rain, storms and thunderstorms are expected in parts of Uttar Pradesh, including Lucknow and Noida.

Noida Weather: Uttar Pradesh is currently reeling under intense heatwave conditions, humidity and hot winds, disrupting the normal life of people. The mercury in several districts has remained consistently above normal. However, the current weather conditions in Noida and other parts of Uttar Pradesh are expected to change, as the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) reports that a combination of cold easterly winds and a new western disturbance moving toward North India is likely to affect the weather.
The cold easterly winds and the fresh western disturbance are expected to bring rain, storms and thunderstorms in parts of Uttar Pradesh around May 28. The change in weather will not only bring temperatures down but also provide relief from the scorching heat.
Uttar Pradesh Weather
The state has been facing intense heatwave conditions for the past several days. Major cities including Lucknow, Kanpur, Agra, Prayagraj, Varanasi are witnessing intense heat and humidity. Day time temperatures have consistently exceeded 40 degrees Celsius in most parts of the state.
Why Is The Weather Changing?
According to the Lucknow Meteorological Centre, anticyclonic activity is currently forming over central India, causing hot and dry westerly winds to blow over southern Uttar Pradesh.
This is the main reason the state is under the grip of intense heat and heatwaves conditions. However, easterly winds are now getting active in the lower troposphere, bringing moisture from the Bay of Bengal.
Meanwhile, a new western disturbance is also expected to develop over Northern India. When these two systems collide with each other, rain, storms and thunderstorms are expected.
A period of rain and storm may begin on May 28.
The IMD said that the weather in the state could witness a major change on May 28. Light to moderate rain and thunderstorm are expected in many parts of the state.
This trend is expected to continue for three to four days. This will reduce the heat and humidity in the atmosphere.
Rain And Strong Wind Alert
The Meteorological Department has predicted light rain, strong winds and thunderstorms in several districts of Uttar Pradesh. Rain and strong wind alerts have been issued for Meerut, Ghaziabad, Noida, Agra, Mathura, Kanpur, Saharanpur, Bijnor, Bareilly, Rampur, Shravasti, Bahraich, Balrampur, Varanasi, Prayagraj and Gorakhpur. Light rain in these areas as part of pre-monsoon activities may provide relief from the heat.
