Noida Weather Update: North India, including Uttar Pradesh, is dealing with intense heatwave conditions. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has also forecasted severe heatwave conditions over Central India as well for the coming week. It said that severe heat wave conditions are likely to prevail over North India for the next seven days as Nautapa hit the region.
The daytime temperature is expected to decrease from May 29 as new western disturbance is likely to affect Northwest India on May 28.
"No significant change in maximum temperatures likely over many parts of Northwest India till 28th May and gradual fall by 3-5 C on 29th & 30th May," the IMD said.
Heatwave Alert
According to IMD, heatwaves will prevail in parts of northwest India throughout the week. A heatwave to severe heatwave alert has been issued for Delhi, Punjab, Chandigarh and Haryana from May 26 to May 27. The weather department has also issued an Orange alert on these dates.
An Orange alert has been issued for West Uttar Pradesh between May 24 and 28. However, IMD has issued a Red alert for East Uttar Pradesh from May 24 to May 26.

The weather department has also issued a Red alert for several parts of East Uttar Pradesh. People, special children and the elderly are likelihood of developing heat-related illness and heat stroke.
Parts Of Rajasthan Likely To See Temperatures Touch 47 Degrees Celsius
Heatwave conditions have intensified in several parts of Rajasthan, with temperatures in Jaisalmer city reported to be the highest maximum temperature of 45.9 degrees Celsius.
According to IMD Jaipur, a heatwave alert has been issued with the weather to remain dry across several parts of Rajasthan until Thursday. Dust-laden winds with speeds of 20-30 kmph are also very likely in the region.
The weather department said that some parts of western Rajasthan are expected to reach maximum temperatures of 46-47 degrees Celsius on May 26 and May 27. Isolated places of the state are expected to experience severe heatwave conditions.
Heatwave Death Toll Touches 16
At least 16 people lost their lives due to extreme heatwave conditions in the southern part of the country, AFP reported.
