New Delhi: National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval on Tuesday talked to his American counterpart John Bolton and apprised him about the security situation in the region following Pulwama attack and India’s retaliation on the same on Feb 26. India has also shown proof of Pakistan using F-16s to attack Indian planes and target.

The US defence also attached ‘shown parts of AIM-120 missile’. This was the second time that Doval spoke to Bolton amidst the heightened tension between India and Pakistan.

Both the national security advisers had earlier talked on February 15, day after the Pulwama attack, during which they resolved to ask Pakistan to remove all obstacles and designate Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) leader Masood Azhar as a global terrorist.

Bolton had supported India’s right to self-defence against cross-border terrorism and also offered assistance to India to bring the perpetrators of the crime to justice. The call was initiated by the US to express condolence and outrage over the Pulwama attack by Pakistan-based terrorist group JeM.

“I told Ajit Doval today that we support India’s right to self-defence. I have spoken to him twice, including this morning… and expressed the US’ condolences over the terrorist attack,” Bolton had told PTI.

“We have been very clear on that score… And, we are continuing to be in discussions we are going to have with the Pakistanis,” the US NSA said.

India had carried out pre-emptive airstrikes against the JeM terror camp in Balakot across the Line of Control (LoC) in retaliation to the Pulwama attack which claimed the lives of 40 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel.
