New Delhi: In line with their accusations against the Bhartiya Janata Party and its East Delhi Lok Sabha candidate Gautam Gambhir, the Aam Aadmi Party on Friday sent legal notices to both over offensive pamphlets naming Atishi and Manish Sisodia that were circulated in the constituency on Thursday. AAP on Thursday held a press conference in the national capital with Atishi and Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia helming the meet and levelled accusations on Gambhir, Atishi’s opponent from the East Delhi constituency of indulging in a maligning campaign. Holding a pamphlet, Atishi and Sisodia alleged that Gambhir’s team had been distributing an offensive letter to residents of East Delhi ahead of May 12- when Delhi goes to polls for Lok Sabha seats.
Soon after, Gambhir refuted any involvement in the pamphlet row and filed a defamation case against the AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal.
On Friday, Gambhir further challenged the Delhi Chief Minister to prove charges against him or quit. He also vowed to hang himself in public if his complicity in the row is proved.
