New Delhi, Dec 29: With the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) all set to implement the odd-even formula in the national capital, Delhi Police Commissioner B S Bassi will meet Delhi Transport Minister Gopal Rai at 6PM. Bassi had criticised the AAP government on the implementation of the project and said that the policy is bring rolled out in a hurry. He also said that he will take action against volunteer who takes law into their hands by forcing motorists to follow the restrictions.
Following which Gopal Rai criticised Bassi for taking law into hands during odd-even formula. He also said, “Bassi should not talk like a spokesperson of a political party.” Contradicting Bassi’s statement, he said that Delhi government will not deploy AAP volunteers but Civil Defence personnel during the odd-even experiment. He also asked Bassi not to give misinformation to people of Delhi about the scheme. (Also Read- B S Bassi should not speak like a political party spokesman: Gopal Rai)
He said that Rai if Bassi wants to get any information on odd-even formula, he should get such details from the Special Commissioner (Traffic) who is a member of the preparatory committee and not be influenced by political guidance. He said, ” The issue raised by the police commissioner is factually incorrect. In Delhi, we were deploying 10,000 volunteers who are not of Aam Aadmi Party, instead they are civil defence personnel recruited by Delhi government.”
