New Delhi: In a shocking incident, a 24-year-old married woman in Keonjhar district of Odisha allegedly chopped off the genitals of a man, whom she had an extra-marital affair. The woman, Kamla took this extreme step when the man was sleeping. He was rushed to Harichandanpur Hospital and then shifted to Keonjhar district headquarters hospital.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) James Toppo said the woman identified as Kamla admitted to have committed the crime after a heated argument with the man. She has been taken into custody following a complaint filed by the family of the man, identified as 25-year-old Rajendra Nayak.
The victim, who belongs to Jharabeda village, worked in a private company in Chennai. He was in a relationship with the married woman and used to visit her house whenever he would arrive from Chennai.
“Nayak (victim) arrived from Chennai on Tuesday, and the next day went to Kamla’s house, where the two of them had an argument allegedly over his remarks. Irated over the same, she chopped off his genitals with a sharp weapon after he had fallen asleep,”police said quoting the woman’s confession.
A few months ago, a similar incident was reported from Uttar Pradesh’s Muzaffarnagar where a woman chopped off her husband’s genitals and then disposed them in a toilet for allegedly having an extramarital affair.
In another case, a woman was arrested from Gudiyattam in Tamil Nadu for allegedly chopping off the genitals of her husband over following a fight over his illicit relationship.
