New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh cabinet minister Om Prakash Rajbhar has threatened to resign from the state cabinet. On the occasion of the 16th raising day of the party, his anger against the BJP government in his state came out in the open. He said that he is disappointed with the BJP.
Addressing a rally, he had said, “I have not come here for the power but to fight for the poor. Should I fight this battle or become a slave of the BJP? I have not been assigned a single office till today. I have made up my mind that today I will resign.”
Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) leader Om Prakash Rajbhar, who is the Minister of Department of Backward Classes Welfare and the Department of Disabled People Development in Uttar Pradesh, said, “These (BJP) do not want to give me share. Whenever I talk about the poor, they talk about the temple, mosque or talk about the Hindu Muslims.”
According to media reports, Om Prakash Rajbhar is angry because BJP President Amit Shah who came to Lucknow recently did not talk to him.
This is not for the first time that Rajbhar has left the BJP government red-faced with his remarks. The minister had earlier claimed that corruption had increased under the Adityanath Yogi dispensation in the state. The charges were rubbished by the BJP.
Last month, the Uttar Pradesh minister, in a veiled attack on the state government, had said that renaming Mughalsarai Railway station as Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Junction would not help spur development or ensure that trains run as per schedule.
Rajbhar, who leads BJP ally Suheldev Bhartiya Samaj Party (SBSP), has rued that his party was not getting the due respect under the present government. Rajbhar’s party has four MLAs in the 403-member UP Assembly.
The SBSP had contested the Uttar Pradesh civic polls separately. It had even contested a few seats in the Gujarat Assembly elections on its own, asserting that its alliance with the BJP was not at the national level.
