OMG! Arvind Kejriwal was offered role in Mallika Sherawat’s Dirty Politics

Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal’s political career is perfect to make a film on. So it may not come as a shock to you that the newly appointed Delhi CM was actually approached for a role in a Bollywood movie! According to reports, Arvind Kejriwal was offered the lead role in KC Bokadia’s film Dirty Politics starring hot actress Mallika Sherawat. The character in the film was that of a journalist and Kejriwal was offered the film by Bokadia during his 49-day period as Delhi CM in 2013. (Read: An open letter to Arvind Kejriwal)

Sadly, Kejriwal turned down the offer and we could not watch the actor hidden behind his personality. Kejriwal refused to work in the film saying that he had just launched his political party and hence did not have time for Dirty Politics. Later, the role was given to actor Naseeruddin Shah.

Interestingly, Kejriwal did not accept the offer citing time constraints and not because he wasn’t interested in acting! “I had e-mailed him about the role and asked him to play it but he replied saying he had just launched his political party and wanted to concentrate on the same,” Bokadia was quoted telling Mail Today.

Dirty Politics revolves around the infamous Bhanwari Devi case. Apart from Sherawat and Shah, the film also starred Jackie Shroff, Ashutosh Rana, Anupam Kher, Om Puri, Dikshit Dave and Dhruv Agarwal.

It remains to be seen if Kejriwal will accept a film role in his second stint as Delhi CM!
