Fatehpur, April 7: Union Minister of state for food processing Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti on Wednesday courted another controversy when she said that she had no clue about National Investigative Agency (NIA) officer Tanzil Ahmad, who was killed by unidentified men in Bijnor. When media persons asked Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti about Tanzil Ahmad, the union minister assumed that the deceased NIA officer was from Pakistan.

“Tanzil Ahmad, the one who is from Pakistan?” Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti asked journalists when she was asked to comment about the murder of NIA officer Tanzil Ahmad. She later made correction and gave excuse that she was very busy in her political activities. “You might be shocked after knowing that I have no idea about NIA officer Tanzil Ahmad as I was very busy in my political activities. I din’t get chance to watch news channels or read newspapers,” she said. (ALSO READ: NIA officer murder: 2 persons detained in connection with Mohammad Tanzil’s killing)

Tanzil Ahmad, an assistant commandant with BSF who was currently on deputation in NIA, was returning to Sahaspur from the wedding of his niece when two unidentified bike-borne assailants stopped his car and shot him dead on April 3 in Bijnor. The shokcing killing of Tanzil Ahmad rocked the entire country as the officer was a part of probe team which was investigating Pathankot attacks. It is really surprising that the union minister is unaware about the brave soldier of the country.
