Moradabad, Aug 7: In a gut-wrenching incident, a Moradabad couple allegedly killed their six-year-old malnourished daughter and then buried her inside the house in Moradabad’s Chaudharpur village. The girl’s body was found on June 4 when the couple’s neighbours complained to the police. On digging the ground, fragile body of Tara was found.

More grisly details emerged in the case as the police questioned the neighbours and conducted an investigation. The girl’s mother told the police that the girl had developed rickets and was getting weaker everyday. The family had allegedly consulted a tantrik regarding the Tara’s health who advised them that if they bury the girl at their home, their next child will be healthy.

Tara’s grandmother told the police that since her mother did not want to part with the child, they buried her inside the home. They had even planned to build a temple over the grave. “We tried several medicines, but nothing worked on her and she kept getting weaker. My grandson has also developed rickets,” she told news agency ANI.

The post-mortem report of the girl was even horrifying. There was not even a single grain in her stomach, the post-mortem report said, adding, she died of suffocation. “Post-mortem report has revealed that the girl was strangled to death,” police officer Ravindra Gaur said. The girl’s parents are yet to be arrested.

An FIR has been registered against the couple allegedly for strangulating their 6-year-old daughter and cremating her inside their house. “Investigation is underway. No arrests have been made yet,” the police told ANI.
