Udhampur: At least one person died and five others were injured after an under construction building collapsed in Johnu area of Udhampur earlier today. Rescue operations are currently underway, news agency ANI reported. The building collapsed on Saturday morning.

The Udhampur building collapse has come a few days after at least one person was killed and 14 others were injured after an under-construction building in Uttar Pradesh’s Shahjahanpur collapsed. The two-story building collapsed around 3:30 PM on Sunday.

The contractor of an under-construction building that collapsed in Uttar Pradesh’s Shahjahanpur was arrested a day later. An FIR was also registered in the case. “The contractor has been arrested. However, the owner hasn’t been traced yet. An investigation is underway,” said Amrit Tripathi, District Magistrate.
