Mumbai, Jan 16: Trouble for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film ‘Padmaavat‘, starring Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh in the lead roles, does not seem to be ending even as it has got clearance from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). While the film is set to be finally released on January 25, many states have imposed a ban on it and won’t let the film hit theatres. Four Bharatiya Janata Party ruled states have shut their doors to the movie, the latest being Haryana. Also Read - Several Spectators Injured as Ravan Effigy Collapses in Haryana’s Yamunanagar | Watch Video

States have banned Padmaavat citing ‘law and order’ issues with Rajput Karni Sena threatening stir if the film is released. The Rajput outfit has in fact demanded a nationwide ban on the film. The CBFC had given clearance to Padmaavat (earlier Padmavati) last month, after a change of name and deleting a few scenes. However, the Karni Sena has said that a change of name won’t be enough and has demanded a nationwide ban on the film. Earlier last week, Karni Sena workers protested outside the CBFC office against Padmaavat getting clearance. On Tuesday, Karni Sena chief Lokendra Singh Kalvi said that they want nothing less than nationwide ban on the movie.

Amid the protests against the film, the makers had on Monday issued a full-page ‘fact-sheet’ on Padmaavat, saying the film was based on a word of fiction and that it did not distort any facts.
