“With a heavy heart I have resigned from the post I had in BJP. I am pained at the behaviour of Haryana CM. I have never seen a BJP CM so arrogant who doesn’t respect party workers and community representatives,” he was quoted as saying by ANI.
Earlier on Tuesday, he lashed out at Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar for not meeting the members of the Shri Rajput Karni Sena even after giving an appointment, in connection with the ‘Padamavati’ row. Speaking to ANI, Amu said, “I want to request Prime Minister Narendra Modi to talk to Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and ask him that why they have insulted the Rajput society delegation that came here today. The Chief Minister had himself given an appointment to Karni Sena members and left without meeting them. Why didn’t he meet people who had come to meet him from Rajasthan? If you want to oust us from party, go ahead but don’t insult us.”
On Saturday, he attacked the West Bengal Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee for extending her support to Padmavati and reminded her the treatment meted out to mythological character ‘Shupranakha’ by ‘Laxman’. He called Mamata a woman with ‘devilish traits’ and said, “Women with devilish character should not forget Laxman had cut Shupranakha’s nose. Mamta [Banerjee] should not forget it.”
Known for his threatening language, Amu had earlier announced a bounty of Rs 10 crore for beheading Padmavati actress Deepika Padukone and its director Sanjay Leela Bhansali. He had also threatened actor Ranveer Singh to break his legs after Singh had expressed his unhappiness at the mounting protests by fringe groups like Rajput Karni Sena.
