A Pakistani terrorist from Jaish-e-Mohammed has been killed by the army in a joint operation in the Kathua district. The security forces conducted the operation in Jammu and Kashmir on Friday. This comes after inputs from the special intelligence, which prompted the forces to act. The joint operation was led by the Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). The update was given by the Inspector General of Police, Jammu Zone. The Jaish terrorist killed has been identified as Usman.
Terrorist encounter in Kathua
The terrorist was killed by the joint operation in Jammu and Kashmir's Kathua district. The army conducted the operation by sealing off the general area of Kathua district's Parhetar in Billawar. This led to developing contact with the Pakistan-linked Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist. As a result, he was killed by the security forces.
The Indian Army reported, "Acting on specific intelligence inputs, Joint Operation was launched by Army, Police and CRPF on 23 Jan 26 in general area Parhetar, #Kathua. Area was Cordoned and contact established. In a precise strike by the joint forces, 1 Foreign Terrorist has been eliminated. Search operations are continuing."

Officials visit to Kathua district
Many officials and commanders visited the Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday. These include the Army North Commander Lt Gen Pratik Sharma, Lt Gen PK Mishra, General Officer Commanding (GOC) Jammu's White Knight Corps, and GOC Himachal Pradesh's Rising Star Corps Lt Gen Rajan Sharawat.
