New Delhi, Nov 18: Pakistan Navy on Friday claimed to had detected an Indian submarine violating its waters. In a statement issued by the navy, it claimed that an Indian submarine was headed towards its coast. The claim has been dismissed by India, calling it a ‘blatant lie’. New delhi has denied indulging in any sort of naval adventures on the Pakistani front. The allegations of Pakistan comes amid heightened tensions between the two nations.
Pakistan Navy claims to have detected the Indian submarine near “south of the Pakistani coast”. Post detection, the Indian submarine was chased by Pakistan Navy fleet and ‘pushed out’, the press statement released by Pakistan claimed. “Thereafter, despite the submarine’s desperate efforts to escape detection, it was continuously tracked by Pakistan Navy Fleet units and pushed well clear of our waters,” excerpts of the press release published by Reuters said.
Indian Navy has denied the claims made by Pakistan. Indian navy spokesman D. K. Sharma accused Pakistan of spreading ‘blatant lies’ in an attempt to defame India. However, Pakistan is firm that India used its submarine for an ‘intelligence gathering’ mission.
Ties between India and Pakistan have struck a rock-bottom in the aftermath of Uri terror attack. While Pakistan denied to accept the role of any terror outfit operating from its region of carrying out the terror attack, Indian intelligence is firm that the terrorists were infiltrators from Pakistan who were associated with either the Lashkar-e-Toiba or Jaish-e-Muhammad.
The ties further deteriorated after India carried out the surgical strikes in Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir on September 29 to avenge the Uri assault. The terror camps of LeT were precisely targeted in the surgical strikes by Indian para commandos.
