Islamabad, Jan 21: Ministry of External Affairs addressed a press conference on Thursday to reveal the official position adopted by the government in relation to the Pathankot terror attacks. While MEA appreciated the resolve taken by Pakistan up till now to crackdown on Pathankot terror attack perpetrators, it advised the neighbouring nation in a veiled manner of leaving its practice of differentiating ‘good’ and ‘bad’ terror, and act on all non-state actors with equal vigour.
“Everybody has to unite against terrorism and end this distinction between good terrorist and bad terrorist once and for all,” said MEA spokesperson Vikas Swarup. (ALSO READ: Should give befitting reply to Pakistan : Subramanian Swamy on Pathankot attack)
India has also accepted the proposal of Pakistan to send its SIT team in Pathankot to probe the terror attack. However, MEA still tightlipped on whether they will be allowed to enter the confidential premises of Indian Air Force base. “In principle we have welcomed the decision of Pak govt to consider sending a SIT.” Earlier, cabinet minister Jitendra Singh said that the SIT team would not be allowed to enter inside all sectors of the IAF base.
MEA also extended sympathies towards the victims of terror attack in Pakistan’s Bacha Khan University. At least 20 people died in the assault undertaken by Tehrik-e-Taliban. However, a section of the Pakistani establishment made allegations that Indian Intelligence agency RAW was playing hand-in-glove with the Tehrik-e-Taliban and providing them with intelligence inputs. India dismissed such baseless accusations.
