Islamabad: The Pakistan Navy is soon going to induct its first domestically designed and built Jinnah-class warship. This warship is considered a significant step towards the modernization and self-reliance of the Pakistani Navy.

Chief Admiral Naveed Ashraf of the Pakistan Navy has confirmed that this warship will be launched soon. He stated that the launch of this warship will enhance the combat capability of the Pakistani Navy.

The Pakistani Jinnah-class warship is equipped with sensors, next-generation weapon systems, and the domestically developed SMASH supersonic missile system. The Pakistani SMASH missile will compete with India’s BrahMos supersonic missile, which is the fastest in the world.

The Jinnah-class warship can play a crucial role in strengthening Pakistan’s maritime defense. This warship can perform various combat roles such as surface attack, anti-submarine warfare, and air defense.

Pakistan has developed this warship based on the technology and experiences of the MILGEM-class warship created in collaboration with Turkey. Due to this Turkish project, Pakistani engineers and shipbuilders have gained the capability to design and construct warships. As a result, Pakistan is now able to build warships at an indigenous level.

Pakistani SMASH missile vs India’s BrahMos

Pakistan claims that this vessel is equipped with advanced stealth technology that will make it less detectable by radar. This will make it easier to evade enemy attacks. It is fitted with a powerful propulsion system that will allow it to carry out its operations swiftly. This warship will be able to patrol rapidly in Pakistani and international waters. It has a tracking system that will alert it immediately about potential enemy threats. The biggest feature of the Pakistani warship is its SMASH missile.

Pakistan claims that this domestic supersonic missile is capable of anti-ship and ground attack. According to the Pakistani Navy, this missile is capable of attacking up to 350 km and during this time its speed is 2.5 Mach. This missile gives the Pakistani Navy a great deterrence force against the enemy. Pakistan claims that this missile is capable of attacking the air defense system area as well.
