New Delhi, Nov 4: Palampur is one of the 67 constituencies in the state of Himachal Pradesh Legislative assembly. Himachal Pradesh will go to polls on November 9, 2017 and the result of the assembly election will be declared on December 18. Four major national parties along with four independent candidates are contesting for the Palampur seat. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), the Indian National Congress (INC) and the Communist Party of India (Marxist) CPM have fielded their candidates for the Vidhan Sabha poll. In 2012 Elections, Indian National Congress candidate Brij Behari Lal Butail  won the Palampur seat with 23341 votes. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Parveen Kumar was the runner-up with 14312 votes.
