Chandigarh: Four members of a family were found murdered at their residence under mysterious circumstances in Panchkula district of Haryana on Saturday. The incident was reported from Khatauli village.

The deceased include three children aged 18, 14 and 12 and a 65-year-old woman, who has been identified as Rajbala. The bodies of the four were found lying in a pool of blood in a room, a police official was quoted as saying in a PTI report.

The reason behind the heinous crime has not been ascertained yet. However, the police suspect property dispute behind the killing.

The forensic and police teams are at the spot of the incident which happened on late Friday night. A case has been registered and an investigation was launched in connection with the matter.

In a similar incident in August, four members of a family were found dead at a house in Pataudi, 50 km from Gurgaon. The incident came to light after a neighbour of the deceased informed about the murders to the Sarpanch who escalated the matter to the police.

Those killed in the cold-blooded murder were identified as 25-year-old Manish and his 62-year-old mother Phoolwati, who were found lying in a pool of blood. Manish’s wife, 24-year-old Pinki, was found hanging from a ceiling fan. The couple’s daughter died at the hospital. Their son was in school when the incident happened.
