New Delhi, November 30: The third day of the Winter Session of the Rajya Sabha saw exchange of heated arguments between the political parties on the issues of intolerance, reservation and price rise. Be it Telegu Desam Party or Bahujan Samaj Party, all stood up against the issue and said that the Constitution of India should be followed and should provide a sense of security among the unprivileged people of the country.
Expressing her views on the rising intolerance, BSP supremo Mayawati echoed her voice on the issue of Dalits in the country. She said that the unprivileged people are the worst sufferers of intolerance and negligence by the ruling state and the Central government. Taking the opportunity, she said that intolerance is rising in the country, but if actors feel to leave the country, it is not a solution. Mayawati said that the Constitution should be followed drafted by Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar and those people should be taken into confidence that their development and security will be taken care of. She said, “On the account of 125th birth anniversary of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar, the PM announced that from Jan 26, India will celebrate the day as ‘Constitution Day’, but merely announcing just don’t change things. The central government need to act accordingly.” She further added that there is a huge difference between the saying and doing of the government. Mayawati said that there is need to introduce some effective steps to help the Dalits and the unprivileged. She said, “There are programs that are bring run for Dalits, but are not reaching to them.”
Concluding her views, she said that he party is ready to support the Goods and Service Tax bill if the Centre assures that it will bring economic development in the country. Mayawati said, “We are ready to support the GST bill if PM assures that it will bring economic development in the country.
