New Delhi, Jan 2: Defense Minister Manohar Parrikar has arrived in the national capital to hold a high-level meeting with Home Minister Rajnath Singh, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, along with senior officers of the Army, Navy and Indian Air Force. The meet is been called to review the failure in curbing the Pathankot terror attack and enhancing the Intelligence to prevent such cross-border terror attacks in the future. NSA Ajit Doval is overseeing the counter terror operation in Pathankot. Doval is constantly briefing Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the subject. Earlier in the day, Rajnath Singh addressed the press, warning stern action against any sort of aggression shown by Pakistan. “We want good relations with our neighbours but any aggression towards us will receive a befitting reply from our side. I am proud of our security forces who gave a befitting reply to the terror attack. This was an efficient co-ordinated effort of the army, paramilitary forces and the Punjab Police,” he said.
The encounter between the security forces and militants has concluded. 4 terrorists have been neutralized. However, at least 2 of the jihadis are still on the run. SWAT team has currently taken charge of the search operation.
