New Delhi, January 13: Indian Army chief General Dalbir Singh Suhag said on Wednesday that the guns recovered from the terrorists in the Pathankot terror attacks have markings from Pakistan. The Army chief made it very clear that till the Indian Army is guarding the borders of country, people should not feel afraid, as the security is in safe hands.
Briefing the press conference for the first time after Pathakot was attacked by terrorists, General Suhag said that the during the combing operations, which was done by the Western Army Command and coordinated efforts of security forces, NSG recovered weapons with marking from Pakistan. General Suhag said that National Investigation Agency is investigating the matter and soon after the the probe is done, they will inform the media. He said, “We have recovered weapons with markings from Pakistan. He informed the media that there has been rise in cyber security threat and was seen concerned. However, he made it clear that they are monitoring each and every activity. He also mentioned that for the modernisation of Indian Army and other forces, several initiatives are been taken under the Make in India program. General Suhag said, “Large number of measures have been taken to expedite induction of modern military equipment. In our efforts to fastrack technological progress, a new Army design bureau is being set up.”
Informing the media about the security threats and the way the operation was done, General Suhag said that those who are on the ground decide how an operation is to be handled and there was no issue of coordination between forces.
