Ahmedabad: Patidar quota agitation leader Hardik Patel is set to marry his childhood friend Kinjal Parikh on January 27 in Digsar village of Muli taluka in Surendranagar district of Gujarat, stated a report. Around 100 guests who are very close to both the families were reportedly invited for the marriage ceremony.

The marriage rituals are said to take place in Digsar village where Hardik’s family deity Bahuchar and Meldi Mata temple is present. Soon after the rituals, the couple will shift to Viramgam, the native town of Hardik. Kinjal Parikh who is originally from Surat settled in Viramgam a few years back.

A report by Times of India quoted Hardik’s father Bharat Patel as saying, “Hardik and Kinjal have known each other since their childhood as they were living in the same locality of Chandannagari village of Viramgam taluka in Ahmedabad district. We and Kinjal’s parents agreed to the marriage and decided to hold the ceremony on January 27.”

Bharat Patel added that girl’s surname may sound different but she belongs to Patidar community. Hardik’s father stressed the fact that the marriage is not an inter-caste one.

Hardik and Kinjal were friends since their childhood. Kinjal used to visit Hardik Patel’s home to study with his sister Monica Patel. While Hardik Patel was still in Lajpore jail in Surat in March 2016, Bharat Patel and Bharati Patel had allegedly announced the engagement of their son with Kinjal Parikh.

Kinjal, who graduated in commerce stream from a college in Kadi Taluka of Mehsana district, currently pursuing Law degree from Gandhinagar.
