In the 2025 Delhi Assembly elections, the Patparganj constituency witnessed a significant shift. BJP’s Ravinder Singh Negi secured a decisive victory over AAP’s Avadh Ojha, leading by a margin of 18,948 votes. This outcome marks a notable change from previous elections, where AAP had maintained a stronghold in the area.

Ravinder Singh Negi, a seasoned politician and current councillor from Vinod Nagar, had previously contested against AAP’s Manish Sisodia in the 2020 elections, narrowly missing victory. His recent rise in prominence was highlighted when Prime Minister Narendra Modi touched his feet at a public event, a gesture that garnered significant media attention.

Avadh Ojha, was introduced by AAP as a fresh face in Patparganj, replacing Manish Sisodia, who shifted to contest from the Jangpura constituency. Despite his reputation and efforts, Ojha was unable to maintain AAP’s dominance in the constituency.

Taking responsibility for the outcome, Ojha said, “It’s my personal defeat. I couldn’t connect to people… I’ll meet the people and will contest the next election from here.”

By the ninth round of counting out of 13, BJP’s Ravinder Singh Negi had secured 54,077 votes, establishing a lead of over 21,270 votes against Ojha, who managed to garner 32,807 votes.

The election results in Patparganj reflect a broader trend in the 2025 Delhi Assembly elections, where the BJP made significant inroads, leading in 42 seats and challenging AAP’s previously established strongholds.
