New Delhi: On a day when Jyotiraditya Scindia joined the BJP, NCP chief Sharad Pawar on Wednesday said if talks had been initiated, the present situation won’t have arisen in Madhya Pradesh. “If there was a dialogue with ‘raja saheb’ (Scindia), this situation wouldn’t have arisen. He wanted to be given new responsibilities after his defeat in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. “People believe that Kamal Nath can do miracles. It will be known in the next one or two days if it will really happen. I don’t know the composition of the Madhya Pradesh Vidhan Sabha,” he said.

Saying that he does not know whether this is the fault of the Congress, Pawar said opportunity should have been given to a good person.

“I don’t know about Congress fault. But it was felt that opportunity should have been given to a good person,” he said, adding, “There is leadership in the Congress and it is capable.”

However, he ruled out that the same situation will arise in his own state where the Maha Vikas Aghadi is running the government.

“The Maha Vikas Aghadi government in Maharashtra is doing well and is on the right path. There is no doubt that the MVA government will last its full term,” he said.

Addressing a press conference, Pawar showered praise on Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. “He is doing good (work) and taking everyone along,” Pawar added.
