The first classroom she visited was decorated with paintings and the board read – “Welcome First Lady Melania Trump into the treasure of books.”

Dressed in a white dress with multi-coloured prints,  Melania then enthusiastically interacted with teachers and children and witnessed various activities conducted as part of the “Happiness Curriculum”.

Later, she was also treated to a dance performance on a folk song, during which a Sikh student couldn’t control his excitement and showed off his perfect ‘Bhangra’ steps, much to the amusement of everyone.

Ahead of her arrival, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal welcomed her and said, “@FLOTUS will attend happiness class in our school today. Great day for our teachers, students and Delhiites. For centuries, India has taught spirituality to the world. Am happy that she will take back the msg of happiness from our school,” Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal tweeted.

The ‘Happiness Class’ was started by the Aam Aadmi Party in 2018. As part of the programme, students are taught various activities, including meditation, street plays, basic obedience and aims to reduce anxiety and stress levels among children.
